SGIM is the premier professional organization for academic GIM around the country, and UC has a great presence and leadership role in the organization!

The Robert J. Glaser Award – Marshall Chin, MD, MPH
The Robert J. Glaser Award Recognizes outstanding career contributions to research, education, leadership and mentoring in generalism in medicine. Dr. Chin’s selection reflects his long standing commitment to and national impact in health equity research and his effective leadership as former SGIM President, among other major accomplishments. Congratulations on this well deserved recognition, Marshall!
Inaugural Distinguished Professor of Health Equity – Monica Peek, MD, MPH, MS
Dr. Peek gave an outstanding keynote address on the present threats to our democracy, why this is relevant for health and healthcare, and what we can and should be doing about it. Her talk is posted here. She also led a Health Equity poster walk and talk and served as discussant for oral abstracts in health equity research. Congratulations, Monica, and thank you for inspiring us!
