Research Interest
We have a longstanding interest in studying the mechanisms of cardiopulmonary diseases including acute lung injury, repair and fibrosis in response to different stimuli including influenza, LPS and particulate matter air pollution. Specifically, our research focuses on investigating the role of cellular metabolism including mitochondrial function and reactive oxygen species in the pathogenesis of cardiopulmonary diseases. We study the mechanisms that cellular metabolism regulate in different cell types including lung epithelial cells, macrophages, fibroblasts and endothelial cells.
